Today, one of the last urban FM holdouts in the top 50 markets WGPR Detroit started streaming.
It raises the question of what other urban FMs in the major markets are not currently streaming? The numbers are very, very small now.
My list includes:
K-104 Dallas (not to mention its legendary Urban Oldies AM sister), but sister Urban AC KRNB started streaming in recent weeks
KPRS Kansas City
WZAK Cleveland (Radio One for some reason has left Cleveland hanging)
WENZ Cleveland
WPRS Washington D.C. (The New Radio One owned Gospel FM)
KPWR Los Angeles
WRKS NYC
WQHT NYC (the 2 Emmis stations from NYC of course have never streamed), however, there is a non-working stream player that has just been posted for WQHT on Streamaudio.com, could the Emmis urban streaming blackout finally be coming to an end in the near future?!
