whos the best/worst in NH

Okay kids. Let's not pull any punches--and let's not let those Vermont losers keep dominating this board. Who's the best full-time jock in Portland? Somebody who should be major market, but isn't? And who should never be on the air again--never mind in a radio station building? Let's dish!

Gardner Goldsmith is great talk radio talent. 8)

i live in N.H., so i guess i'll post.

I was only a "grunt" with the Clear Channel Lebanon, N.H. cluster for a few months, but i will say Mike Barrett ran a respectable, fair, productive, and hard-working ship. i never experienced the "horror stories" that go along with Clear Channel. like i said i was at the bottom of the totem pole, but the air-talent was respectful, and overall communication and cooperation went hand in hand, and things went very smooth, considering all the different events and programs that went along.

Same can be said with "H.C." and "C.G." and all the higher ups with Dartmouth. Very kind and no one needed an XXL hat size.

Good luck to Mike and anyone else who might move on. thanx for the opportunity and good luck wherever you end up!

copy and paste sorry. but you see how many responded? everyone in NH reads the boards here yet no one posts anything here. its sort of funny.

Well I would have if I were able to listen to NH radio on a regular basis.

I will say I think Garrett is doing well at 99 Rock.

Jason and Traci were an Upper Valley staple, it's going to be a shame to break up that chemistry.

Could care less about Free Wings and Hot Beer.

I like WNTK's morning show with Konrad and the bulldog. Very professional, (except Bulldog's reading of the news). Much better than NTK's used to. Eh, I think Konrad maybe possibly could go major market, but I don't think he wants to.

I agree that Gardner's got some significant talent. Haven't heard him recently to be able to judge just how good. Seems if you can land a gig for a while in the Manchester market, land a gig at almost any station you apply for in a talk format, and consistently have decent small-market listenership, then you can't be doing all that bad.

Unfortunately that's about as broad as my scope can get for now.

Well judging from the quality over the internet, maybe he could use a little processing, of which WNTK has none of. I mean, they are probably using the same mics they've had since like WCNL, lol.

Gardner can currently be heard Mondays on "Free Talk Live", and he will be filling in for us on both June 8 and 9th as we travel to New York City for the New Media Seminar. 8)

His attacks on Ray Buckley were a low point in his career. How he could fall for that Steve Vallincourt lunacy is beyond me.
