Emmis agrees to pay $300,000 to settle the investigation over Hot 97's "Smackfest."
Eliot Spitzer got involved in this - and that leads to a $240,000 payment to the state of New York, and another $60,000 check to community service group Safe Horizon. A PD actually gets paid to come up with stuff like this? I mean, it's so blatant, it screams this is a bad promotion, don't be a moron!.
I may have left the business to paint houses, but I swear, in all my days, nothing like this would get on the air. Not at a CHR, not AOR, not Active Rock, nor at a Churban and definitely not at an Urban station. It's just plain stupid. How much does a PD in NYC get paid these days?
