I agree, it's either WTIC/61 or WFSB/3. Speaking of channel 3, I never thought I'd live to see the day when Denise D'Ascenzo read a piece out of the midwest where a robber was caught with his pants down. Of course, D'Ascenzo is one of the classiest professionals out there, and she presented it in a very non-offensive manner, but it was still surprising to see her read it, I think she started to blush as well.
One thing that I think is particularly flashy and unnecessary is something WVIT/30 does. Usually they have the "click of the day" or the "hottest website of the week" or the "wildest video of the day." But I'd rather them fill the spot with more local news. Otherwise, I could watch Comedy Central or MTV to see something funny or scandalous.
I personally don't agree with media organizations or news journalists that cross the line into becoming the entertainment, or begin threatening or debating themselves, like you see with MSNBC and CNN and FOX News.
Someone mentioned WNYW, and over the last five years, FOX5 News has gotten even worse! I like Rosanna Scotto and I liked Ernie Anastos when he was on CBS2, but the format of the 10 o'clock news is just too much. I think once John Roland and Jim Ryan left the station, the old standards of professionalism went with them.
