Who's your favorite Columbus Jock?

There an awful lot of complaining on this board about formats, what's missing, what needs to be changed and overall, what goes on on-air. But when it comes down to it, there are a lot of folks doing a great job in this town. So who's your favorite CURRENT Columbus jock/show? Just looking to see who wins the popular vote 8)

I will put my vote in for Andy Clark. He currently is at 93.3. He was the best at mid-days on WNCI.
He still has it after 25 years or so.

WNCI needs to bring him back.

My second choice would be Shawn Ireland.

Andy is very good! As is Shawn. I'd also have to give honorable mention to Chris Davis on WNCI. Last place in my book goes to anyone on CD101 unless they're trying to have the whole "I'm just learning how to use the equipment" sound.

Shawn Ireland hands down. I had the pleasure to work with her and she really is one of the best!

Shawn Ireland is a rare talent: Big skills, big following, normal ego. 8)

Chris Davis is excellent, indeed. I remember listening to him while I was in high school & college. He made radio cool to me and led me to ivestigate it as a career. Had the pleasure of working with him at 'NCI for a few months between full-time gigs and was pleased to find him easy going and ego free.

I really liked Rafferty on the Brew. One of the market's most listenable air talents.

I hear him now on 106.7 from time to time. At least it sounds just like him. Must have made the move all the way across the building! :p

Joe Boxer, without question, on 'NCI(I don't listen to 'COL...NOT a Country music fan). Lots of fun! I thought it was an absolute tragedy when they cut his 'NCI show back three hours so they could put Seacrest on the air. :'(

To the many responses about Shawn Ireland.

As an outsider listening in, I've always had the impression this was a lady that was high maintenance. Lot's of emotional baggage.

Maybe I'm reading that wrong and maybe it's part of the "act", but when she talks about her life relationships, I generally think to myself "I understand why".

Shawn Ireland...emotional baggage?

Have you ever met ANY radio personality who didn't have emotional baggage?

It's almost a job prerequisite and I think Shawn keeps it together particularly well.

I'll second Nunnaly and throw in NCI part-timer Matt Ryan. Guy has major market sound, if he was on full time he'd be scary good.

I think Matt Ryan was full time nights a few years back.. it seems like they replaced him with VT'd Kane from FLZ.. correct me if I'm wrong, the memory is a little fuzzy

Yeah, you'd be right. Matt Ryan was full time nights a few years back, then Kane, then someone else who was also MD(Why can't I remember this person?), and now Maxwell.
