WHP-580 has the hissy's!

Sounds like WHP-580 has turned on the noise with the HD radio. Wonder how many people are really listening to HD radio on AM (and FM for that matter)? AM should just be left alone....

Honestly, it has to be one of the most exciting things to happen to AM radio since it signed on. While we could debate whether this particular system is the right one, AM sounds like FM in HD. I've talked to people who say they will miss the power line noise and that crap, but I don't for a moment. I actually bought an in-dash unit after a noted FM personality in the area played AM HD for me.

Many of the folks who will despise AM HD are some of the same who believe carts and records are still the way to go. It is great to reminisce about the past, not so great to be stuck there. Things change... and this change will allow AMs to play music again with a quality broadcast. Heck, even WGLD and the AMs that many of you seem to think can garner listeners again, actually will.

By the way, 1460 The Ticket is also in HD.
