WHP TV General Manager

I understand that Sinclair, the new owners of channel 21,have fired Holly Steuart. She had been there I believe over 4 years.I believe that she made a valiant and credible effort to turn around that station. :'(

With Sinclair at the helm, get ready for problems with cable TV re-transmission agreements. They will play hardball...they did it in Baltimore. If you recieve another CBS affiliate on your cable system from Philly or Baltimore get ready to kiss it goodbye. Chances are they'll want a CBS exclusive.

What I want to know is why none of their syndicated shows are shown in HD? Same with CW 15. Is it them just being cheap?

In all probability they do not have the equipment such as HD VTRs or HD servers.
They are simply passing through the CBS Network as well as their new HD studio cameras.
Cheap ? Who knows. Sinclair will certainly update their gear. ; :)

YES ! They are extremely far to the "Right".
Their General Managers all mouth Fox News in their editorials.
RJ Harris over at WHP radio will feel RIGHT at home with "Sinclair". ;)

And how is this a bad thing? Welcome to Central PA Sinclair. It'll be nice having
you in the neighborhood to off set the liberal leanings of channel 8.

It will be interesting to see what becomes of the "(fill in your favorite) County Mobile Newsroom". I
appreciate the fact CW15 airs a 30-minute newscast at 10, but nothing aired keeps me awake at night. I always enjoy trying to pick out the remote location (including around North 6th St.) Sinclair experimented with central "news readers" from HQ providing "local" news a few years ago. Wonder if the 10pm local "dry run" of the 11pm news will be found expendable?

I hardly think that Sinclair can even offset the liberal rantings of his own network. Seems like an odd pairing.
