WHPB-LP 98.5 The Wire

Just discovered this new Urban Variety radio station while manually scanning the FM dial like I always do as I was driving to do my radio show at around 4pm yesterday.

WHPB-LP 98.5 The Wire (Orlando-Pine Hills, FL)

It's a mix of Hip Hop & R&B, today & old school.

I searched for anything online about this & only found 1 article.
I read that it's being programmed by someone who used to work at BET.
This station has great potential & the perfect signal coverage for what they are doing.

Wow this must be brand new. I left Altamonte Thursday morning and did not hear this the whole week I was up there.

Yes, it is brand new. I read that they debuted at 3pm on Friday. I discovered it at 4pm.

I bet this channel is not an easy catch in Altamonte. What with wktk coming in on that channel. You're likely to hear that station instead of wsbh from Brevard. I have heard wsbh in Altamonte but not too often. I'm sure the wire will come in but it may take a car radio or a higher end portable to hear it that far away. Of course I can't confirm this until the week of thanksgiving when I go back to Altamonte. Sorry for the little OT. LOL I'm just a huge dx nerd.

Hello. I can hear the station in Altamonte. It comes in a lot better on higher end radios.
