WHPH 97.7 "The Peach" in B'ham (Clanton)

Any thoughts or observations on this station from those of you who might have had the chance to listen recently? Just curious.

I live between Calera and Alabaster and they come in strong at my home.
I listen some nearly every day. I really like there music. Nearly everytime I call in a request it is played within a few minutes. That don't happen on other stations. It may be hours, although I haven't called any other stations in a while.

It's one of the few terrestrial stations I still listen to, just because of the music quality.

Good luck with the new job, Mike. I heard about it at church Wednesday night in choir!

Much obliged, folks. Any comments on the new PM drive host--who's about to start in 30 seconds--would be appreciated, too.

In other words, the check is in the mail.

Their website is still down as of today (4/16). The peach97.com domain doesn't expire until May, 2009, so the site isn't down as a result of the domain not being renewed, anyhow... :)

Incidentally, right now The Peach's website www.peach97.com is down. Anyone know why?

Technical issues that are soon to be resolved.

In other words, the check is in the mail.

Personally, I've never been fond of "in other words".

It's a technical issue, it's soon to be resolved, so there you go.

If it was a "check" issue, I'd write one myself. There isn't a human on the planet who wants the site back up more than I do.

Thanks for the interest, though.

Does The Peach currently (as in when the website is operational) stream or have plans to? The 97.7 trio that rings the Magic City (WHPH, WQJJ, and WKLD) are all good for their high school football coverage and the other two stream.

Are you fond of humor?  Obviously not.

You meant that "check's in the mail" response as humorous?

Ah.  Apologies, then.

I'd suggest, though, when one's audience can't tell one is kidding that the fault isn't always the audience's.

And yes, from what I understand streaming is being considered.

A stream would definitely benefit those "over the mountain" folks who have reception issues like I did while in Helena. Decent enough signal up to Alabaster, but north of there it began getting spotty in the valleys. (And one of my favorite non-sat. stations, as well, when I lived in the area.)
