WHQC reaches record low

WHQC had its lowest 6+ share on record with a 1.9. They were also the lowest ranked, and had the second lowest cume of any full market signal (ahead of only WOSF on cume). I think it's time for either a format change or PD change.

WEND beat their record high from earlier this year with a 6.3. They were also #3 in cume.

Here's the rest of the ratings: Charlotte - RadioInsight

CHR format is struggling right now, but Kiss 95.1 seems to be winning that battle ahead of Hits 96.1. And they have the return of Ace and TJ, and Manny and Lauren may be doing better in the mornings versus the new guys on 96.1. Perhaps time to flip formats indeed.
And variety hits seem to be doing much better with K-104.7 in the top spot, and 102.9 the Lake in the Top 5. And Mix 107.9 hanging in there. Since WKQC is doing much better than WNKS, looks like Beasley would switch signals as 95.1 has a much stronger fringe signal than 104.7 which is short spaced with Columbia. I cannot recieve K-104.7 in Spartanburg, unlike most other Charlotte signals which come in clear. But I know these days broadcasters don't seem to care anymore about regional fringe listeners.
But at least they could put a simulcast of K-104.7 on a 95.1 HD Radio subchannel. Would be nice to hear Bob and Sheri again.

I normally switch between Matt and Ramona and Bo and Beth in the mornings. Apparently WBT may have the top rated morning show, and Bo Thompson and Beth Troutman are the only hosts on WBT I care to listen to, as everyone else is far right politically. But I don't mind Pat McCrory back on Wednesdays, and I like when John Hancock returns on Fridays.

For many, many decades... going back to the 70's in fact... advertisers seldom buy an out of market station to serve a fringe or distant market.

WHQC’s slide continues - now to a 1.7 share 6+.

That has to be close to a record low for the 96.1 frequency.

I like those Part 15 FM transmitters that have Bluetooth on them, for like $10-$20 at Walmart. I can stream the stations (via internet) that don't reach my area well and still can hear them clearly with good signal strength up to 50 feet away. I set the transmitter to the same channel as the streaming station so its like i'm still listening to their main signal.

This works great in Gaffney for Charlotte stations that normally have a weak signal, such as 99.7, 104.7 and 106.5 and Greenville stations like 98.5 and 99.5 as well as out of area stations I used to listen to.

The delay is only like 15 to 30 seconds in most cases, so if I drive toward the main signal I can turn off the small car transmitter before the main signal starts to interfere/overpower it.
