WHQC & WKQC

What is the FCC rule on two stations in the same mkt. having call letters that are almost the same?

What was WHQC's calls before the change?

The calls WCHN, WCHL, & WCNL could be for use with (FM) on Channel 96.1, they are all currently used on AM only.
Another one, WCHH is not currently being used on AM or FM, and it fits with both "Channel" and "Charlotte."

I really don't think it matters. We only hear the calls once an hour, and if you sneeze you'll miss it.

WCHH was once used on 92.7 when it was HOT.

It doesn't matter anymore... people don't have to write in diaries their stations - the PPM records the signal within the songs and registers what you're listening to... most stations are known by alternate names than their call letters anyway!
