WHTA

According to http://www.yes.com/#WHTA?log and selecting Friday, March 11 at 5:00pm, they played:
Usher - OMG (w/ Will.I.Am)
11.03.2011 5:00pm

YC - Racks
11.03.2011 5:21pm

Chris Brown - Look At Me Now (w/ Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes)
11.03.2011 5:24pm

Songs between "OMG" and "Racks" were not detected by YES.com.

I hope this answers your question.

- Brian

Between 4:50pm and 5:35pm is when they do the "5 O'Clock Traffic Jam." Yes.com and other tracking services usually don't detect all songs played during mixshows.

This tracking has an unusually large 20 minute gap, so there must have been a lot of exclusive songs or remixes played, and whatever was mixed had to be at the same speed as (or half the speed of) Usher's "OMG" at around 130 bpm - which they started with. Most of the songs that they play that are around half that speed are trackable, unlike much new uptempo urban hits & remixes, so I'm assuming (at least some of) whatever was played must have been similar to, or as fast as Usher's "OMG".

WWVA used an uptempo bass remix of "Racks" in their mix during their weekend mix, which I believe was on Friday night. That remix did not register, but the slow, original version does, which means if WHTA did go uptempo, then it could've all been uptempo anywhere up until the point racks was played.

With Dj Kizzy Rock dropping new material and Edubb promoting their new single (none which register on yes dot com), along with Waka Flocka having electro club remix(es) of "Oh lets do it"...etc, makes me wonder if they played any bmore or bass?

Re: WHTA & More

They went uptempo at 5pm this past Friday, again. Fergie's "Glamorous" was even used... some rhythmic activity has slightly been seeping in and going on in their 5pm mixshow lately... Maybe that's what caused "I got a feeling" by Black Eyed Peas to appear in their top 100 most played about a week or so ago.

Now, I look at V103 and Rihanna's "only girl in the world" is BACK in the recent 100 - even slightly higher than "Like a G6"! Not to mention Mobin Master - "Show me love" somehow making it up to #49 in recent top 100 spins on WVEE. That's not even just playing Robin S. They actually played Mobin Master... at least that's what tis being indicated.

And on a separate note, nice to see that, yet again, another one of my past suggestions/predictions coincidentally unfolding on Star 94... I believe Star 94 will do GREAT.

I see that overall, Atlanta radio is "shaking things up a bit" and starting to get interesting as times change.

I didn't hear it, but something told me to check, and... you can see what was clearly going on there up until Dazzey Dukes. Who knows how much longer after Dazzey Dukes it went before Grove St. Party. Well, now it's not just V103 doing it...

KDM, they went uptempo during the 5 O'Clock Traffic Jam today for about 15 minutes. LMFAO "Shots", bass mix of Wacka "O Lets Do It" and I remember Usher's Nice & Slow bass mix. I can't remember what else they mixed in but Bill Black(APD/MD) was the DJ. www.djbillblack.com

I already knew they did! I figured it would happen, because I thought about it and looked at the time an hour too late and thought "damn, whatever they did, I missed it - and I bet they did it today..". I still didn't even get to checking what they played yet. I guess I should remind myself to tune in more at that time. I listened to Hot most of Wednesday evening into the night and parts of Thursday evening as well. I didn't hear any Edubb or anything new, but I did notice that hip hop really isn't the same anymore. Drake, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, and Nicki Minaj are good, but there seriously needs to be some new comers who can bring a modern lyrical and production style version of how good it was before 2005. Too many hip hop productions sound the same today, and too many weak lyrics. I miss the 90's - early 00's Hot 107.9 music sound. ..And where did Stuey Rock, Montana Da Mac, Roscoe Dash and a lot of them go?

Stuey Roc is J-Nicks of the Durty Boys from 6p-10p on HOT 107.9 Lots of people here in ATL still don't know that. As far as Montana and Roscoe, they are all ATL artist that don't have any radio hits out now. Lots of local artist like them may still have street and club bangaz, but of course now days it takes stations here a while to pick up on it. Local talent like YC, Charlie Boy Gang, Rocko and Future are currently enjoying the radio/club buzz here.

YC may become somewhat national with "racks". Two stations in Phoenix have even used it one (or more) times so far. I know KKFR has played a couple times, and this is only in the beginning "introduction / this is a heater right here" stages.

I believe this was the mix http://www.heisbillblack.com/?p=389 .. I just heard those three songs in that same order. Shots, the Baltimore Club Remix of "O lets do it", and "Nice & Slow" Atlanta Bass Mix. Rick Ross is in it, too. This has to be the same mix. Too coincidental.
