WHTQ Questions

1) Was it off air for part of Tues (3/10)?
2) Is Bubba really "killing" the competition in the A.M.?
3) Who is the PD, or do you need on if you randomly play the same 300 songs?
4) Does Hildi always wear boots?

I don't know, but it wouldn't suprise me if they were. I've heard long sets of dead air before when they were on autopilot and there was no one around to fix it.

>> 2) Is Bubba really "killing" the competition in the A.M.? <<
Too early to tell. The first winter trend just came out and it shows WHTQ up very slightly, but again one would have to wait for a full book or two to come out first.

>> 3) Who is the PD, or do you need one if you randomly play the same 300 songs? <<
According to their website, it's a person called Fleetwood Gruver. As for the same 300 songs they play, that's a good question. Why would you need one when there's the cox consultants to dictate what to play.

Don't know that one either, but if the post on the fiasco from Feb 26 is at all true, she had better have her resume updated :-\

Recently moving to Tampa I can honestly say that WHPT 102.5's playlist is better than 96.5's. I wish HTQ would mix in more 90s like Cow is doing on The Bone. (Remove the 90s from WHPT's playlist, and aside from the heavy Southern Rock influence on 'HTQ, you're essentially hearing the same songs otherwise in the leftovers.)

I suppose the playlist remains as-is to somewhat protect what the ears at WMMO hear, but realistically I think you could add-in the 90's (Candlebox, some more recent Aerosmith, Stone Temple Pilots, NIRVANA..) and it wouldn't be that bad to the existing audience. With Bubba on there, the two stations could actually compliment each other as you're driving from the fade of one market to the other... (But since when do markets care about other markets?) :)

As far as Fleetwood, google him and you'll see some history on where he's been. PD and his history with the music aside, they could be doing much better than staying with that tight playlist they've had for.. yeaaars..

Only if he sits on them.

He's also the PD of WMMO....
