WHTS All Hits 98.9

I know their a faded memory but guys I gotta say that station has to be the best sounding station I have ever heard. Their imaging is freaking great and is right on cue and was just down right great for such a market as QC IL/IA.

I must ask tho who done their Legal ID's they sound freaking great... I really would love to have the MP3 of the outcue music leading to the Station ID sung.

Great sounding station

Shame they take a great station and put a waste of airspace on there now....

Anyone have any idea!!!

I wouldn't call it a waste of airspace, but WHTS is sorely missed. Red Hot Brian Scott did a lot of the imaging.

I wish I could get ahold of him I would love tips on how damn good he got that station sounded....... BTW all his myspace stuff and other websites says that the government shut them down or what not....

Is that just something to tell the listeners or is there a story behind that.

It was because the FCC treats joint sales agreements/local marketing agreements as ownership now, and Clear Channel operated the station through a JSA that was due to expire this year. Treating the JSA as ownership put CC over the market ownership cap, so a change needed to be made.

The situation is not quite as dramatic as it's being portrayed, but yes, changes in FCC regulation led to the sale and the demise of the format.

Anyone think CC will put a new CHR on one of their current signals? Could we be in for a KISS in the QC?
