WHTS/Quad Cities airchecks - end of CHR 2/3/2006

All-Hit 98.9 WHTS/Rock Island IL, the heritage CHR in the Quad Cities, ended its format last night at midnight after 19 years. The station was run by Clear Channel under a JSA with Mercury Broadcasting for several years, but the new ownership rules necessitated a sale, which was announced in December. EMF is purchasing it for $3.5 million and fired up K-Love on the frequency around 6pm tonight.

Chris Cervantez has posted audio at his site: http://airchecks.tmesser.com/audio/whts/20060203-2200-2359-scoped.mp3

I intend to post pieces of other shows from Friday in the next few days. Unscoped audio from 7:40am to signoff, recorded on cassette, is available for trade.

Thanks for posting this. This is the first time I had heard Brian Scott. I am sure he will be working very soon. Thanks again
