WHTT IN 9TH PLACE

Ok, I am not that surprised that WHTT has dropped to number 9. Yes, I still love the station, but outside 104 on shuffle, they are sounding more and more like WJYE,

Hey Jim Pastric, if you are checking in here, bring back the shuffle lunch hour. Now and again, just throw in a '70's song that is a surprise like Last Train to London by ELO or Heaven on the 7th. Floor by Paul Nichols. Do something to wake me up and go, "Wow"

Hey what about a "Studio 54 Weekend" that would be very cool.

Never make drastic change because one specific book says so...ofcorse CBS disagreed with that when they went from rock to talk to Jack in how many years months with 92.9FM?

Ho-hum

This book is so skewed by the October storm, the election season with its ridiculous commercial loads, and Christmas music that I can't see programmers with any sense using it to determine ANYTHING.

I do agree with the posters who have asked for a little more personality from WHTT. They've got experienced, entertaining pros in most dayparts, but it seems like they've got very few chances to do what they do well. I hear lots of liners, jingles, and promos that could be a lot more entertaining if the jocks could inject some local personality instead of having "Mr. Voice Guy" repeated hour after hour. I'm not saying that they shouldn't keep the music moving, but I'd rather hear Harv Moore or Jim Pastrick than "Mr. Voice Guy".

Musically, I've already expressed my feeling that there are some things that aren't working. Disco is fun on Saturday night, but doesn't seem to fit with the overall sound of the station during the rest of the week. Lady Madonna, OK. Madonna? :-\

PS - Didn't Elton John have more than 4 songs? Same goes for Billy Joel.

I just want you guys to know I'm reading this and taking notes. ;)

There were a lot of variables in the Fall Arbitron. Understably, I can't discuss specifics and ratings because of proprietary restrictions. It appears that some posters here already have access to 25-54's and 35-64's... this board is a very interesting and well-connected community, indeed.

The Fall book was affected by an October freak snowstorm and subsequent wide-spread power outages and other variables, such as the November mid-term election. Add all-Christmas-music to the mix and the result is the seasonal "pig in the snake's belly" for some stations.
