Whu does Q103 suck?

Cause it ain't Q104.....anyone remember Q104 (103.9); Ellen McKinnon, Peggy Apple, John Cooper....

Lin Brehmer's "Hump Day Unusual Moment"?...up there on Schmaltz Hill, with the turkeys and goats? I mean live turkeys, not just liner card readers....

Funny, I don't remember the Morning show from that period...maybe cause we didn't "come to" in time.....

Ahh, those were the days!

Dave Armond(sp?) did mornings. He had a very unusual show... more music than mouth.

I'm in total agreement here. Q103 - "Where rock died."
Whilst it's not the name that decides how it goes, The Bone left me wondering, but I can dig it. "I wanna ride it all night long..."

I don\'t really have a Bone to pick with anyone, but when all ownership and signal issues are considered, it most likely won\'t be Q-103-Where Rock Dies.

Q-104 didn't suck....

Ellen McKinnon originally did mornings on "The Progressive 104", (later known as Q-104,) from around 1975-1982. Prior to that, she had done an all night progressive rock show, on WGY-AM, of all places, weeknights! After Ellen, Mark McGovern did mornings, for a year or so, and than it was Dave Ardman, until about 1986, or so... The Q-104 handle was dropped for a few years, around 1984, when they ditched progressive rock, for kind of a Rock/AC format. At that time, it was known as QBK-FM 104. In 1987, they flipped to Classic Rock, and also became known as Q-104, once again...

Re: Q-104 didn't suck....

My God! What a blast thinking about Ellen on GY. It was TOTALLY Progressive as I remember. An EXTREMELY wide variety of music, truly living up to what the format was (or shouldn't have been, since Progressive in it's true form has no rules).
As long as we're talking about blasts from the past, anyone remember the classic "Kalideascope (sp?) on WRPI? What a trip.
