WHUD DJ needs to retire

It breaks my heart to say this but sadly it appears it might come to that.

A DJ I enjoyed for many years returned today after a 4 week absence due to illness.

I won't name him out of extreme respect for him. He managed to pull off a decent program but there were noticeable signs his illness had sapped his ability to do the job.

First doing a back sell at the end of the hour saying we heard a song only to backtrack and say no we'll hear that in the next hour.

In his final hour you could hear him drained and fatigued. He started to say he played Selena and had to backtrack saying uh no we didn't play Selena. He had pauses and he ended the show by stammering " Bob Barnum is next after weather and stuff."

I have the utmost respect for this man. He's been a reliable entertaining figure for WHUD and it saddens me and probably Steve Petrone to see him suffering. I genuinely would miss him but maybe its time for him to preserve his dignity and put in his papers with dignity. I hope it doesn't have to be that way but based on what I heard today his on air days might be coming to an end.

There's definitely been larger collections of more severe flubs in the history of entertaining DJ's, give him a break. You made an account just to suggest someone's retirement after a handful of non-crisp comments?
