I have given WHUD ample opportunities to get their acts straight and do their love show properly but they continually mess up and continually pollute the program with party and disco songs on what is billed as a romantic love songs program. Tonight I tuned in as usual at 7 expecting to hear romantic love songs from Catherine Michaels as per what the show promises but instead as usual they have foisted party tunes on what is supposed to be a romantic program. I am done with the program and I am done with the station. Lite FM and Star 99.9 have programs that consistently fulfill their promise of romantic music. I have no objection to party and disco tunes at all, but I do object when a station broadcasts a romantic dedications show and the music director does not adhere to the format. It would be like programming a party show and the host plays songs like Toni Braxton's " Unbreak My Heart" or Elton John's " Candle in the Wind." Great songs but you certainly won't be hearing them on Studio 108 or the Party Marty Show. Likewise, you should not be hearing Whitney Houston's " I'm Every Woman" and Earth Wind and Fire's " Lets Groove" on Night Rythms. I mean I understand if program director Steve Petrone and music director Tom Furci have an aversion to sappy love songs. Fine, nobody says you have to partake in that genre, but don't bill yourself as airing a romantic love songs program when you most definitely are not.
