Why a liberal likes Savage

His political view of the world is so bizarre in its knee jerk right wing silliness as to make me shiver. I treat it as parody.

But Savage shows an ability to relate to people that many modern broadcasters miss. His rambles about his childhood, his dinner last night, vitamins and all sorts of other things are, to me, curiouslyi engaging.

And while I am curiously engaged, I find his ability to relate fascinating.

Am alone in this perspective?

I feel the same way about Savage. His rants are so "out there" that they border on shtick or even, as you say, parody, but he just seems more human than Beck or Hannity, who come across to me as playground bullies, in the mold of Pat Buchanan.

I like his ramblings, because they actually make sense. I don't consider him "knee-jerk" or silly though, but I guess that's because I don't view the world through the eyes of a liberal. :-[

If this appeals to you, maybe you should be listening to Phil Hendrie - sounds like you just described his show to a "T".

Hannity seems okay to me, he does seem to like to pick fights with people though. Beck is just plain dopey. I can't get anything useable out of his show. It amazes me how his show is rated as high as it is. ::)

Those of us with autistic children in the family beg to differ.

I think Savage is a great personality until he starts with his tin-foil-hat conspiracy theories and political nonsense.

I haven't heard his show in years. Too much schtick.

Two things I remember was a classic pivot on Scott --murderer--Peterson that had him advocating for him to claiming he knew he was guilty all along.

The second was a Clint Eastwood call in to tell Weiner to stop knocking Mystic River just because it had Sean Penn in the lead.

>>cleared in Boston

Do you mean Savage (or Hendrie) cleared in Boston? Don't know where--WRKO and WTKK lineups
don't reflect it (on sites). WPRV 790 in Prov has him. WCRN? (Site mentions 7-10 pm only it hasn't been updated in awhile--and Savage now runs 9-mid.., and they're more of a Worc station anyway
(or did you mis-type and mean to say NOT even cleared in Boston?)

Yes sorry.. I meant *NOT*. He was on WRKO for many years, i wonder where he will end up now. His ratings were good at WRKO.

OK, thanks for clarifying, and I don't know if he'll wind up back on RKO or at TKK. Really no other stations in town for him, AFAIK.

Which of those 2 stations has the batter signal? I know TKK is FM.

Once i was in Framingham MA, 'RKO didn't come in clear on my car radio.

Depends on whether it is day or night. WRKO's nigh signal stinks west of 128.

Michael Savage is the best talk show host EVER. Period.

If you think his views are off, you should really listen to Alex Jones on WWCR shortwave or online--> www.infowars.com or www.prisonplanet.com

You will get a rude awakening sir---! I bet you don't even believe that Sandy was caused by HAARP and Aluminum Dioxide cloud seeding do you? you're probably to busy watching the communist broadcasting system....!!!

Savage-Weiner Promoted the Use of Pot in the 1970's. I read one of Savage Weiners Book and He really was a "Liberal". He just plays the Conservative card for radio only. Just to get some fame on San Francisco's KSFO-AM.

What he WAS and what he is now is 2 diff things.

"If you're not Liberal when you're young, you have no heart. If you're not Conservative when you're older, you have no brain.

Could be he was a Libertarian back then, not a liberal. Libertarians often back marijuana legalization, arguing that laws criminalizing its possession and use constitute government infringement on personal freedoms. He may still be one today, as Libertarians generally have more in common with conservatives than they do with liberals.
