why all the hype about wired

why is this such a predominate conversation, who really cares about a milky white, phoney ghetto format, is this station really that facinating. lets discuss the future of alternative radio in philadelphia and who will launch this format in 2006.

It's Not "Hype"...It's "Wipe"...As In Charmin.

Coupla guesses why they're the latest gossip-centers:

1) Beasley continues to amaze, confound and bamboozle the locals with inept/inane "programming" decisions with that frequency once again as it has for years; it's like the longest-running soap opera in Philly.

2) Other stations aren't NEARLY as "interesting" because they just hum along like the well-oiled machines they are with operations that don't have constant turmoil, shpilkas or drama.

3) Marshal Mathers, a.k.a. Eminem, simply caused more white kids to emulate the brothaz/sistaz who CAN do the "ghetto format", as you put it. WIRED is for suburban white kids who think they can dance, believe they do have soul and actually can understand the underlying angst that created hiphop...in all its genres. They can't and never will understand FULLY that kind of music like people of color.

BTW, these listeners are the same people who think Milli Vinilli and Vanilla Ice are current and hip.

4) Amen to the discussion of ALT or Triple-A as a commercial format in Philly; XPN shouldn't win that war by default...even though they do a helluva job with the music. Competition breeds stronger chops.

5) I vote for SUNNY to go A.A.A./Adult Album-Alternative! I'll even donate the first thousand mp3's of the core artists and their best tunes from my vast program library. ;-)

LOL! Bravo! That is classic! You are now in the running as my favorite board member. SCRhack, this cat brought visual effects and wit to the table, you only bring wit. Better step your game up or I am dropping you for good.

Too funny!

The morning drive host Rocco the Janitor just got fired..and replaced by some guy that is going by the name of Big Mama.. (rumored to be a drag queen from St. Paul)

A somewhat creative stunt is going on as his show debuts
But really is draggin on and on.

The format may change to contemporary..hits.. (do they still call it that?)
Or who knows maybe alternative..

I am not crazy about alternative format..but I wouldn't post about how much it has been covered lately..and that has been quite alot..

Just sit tight and click on topics that interest you or start your own..
Free country still right?

I'm still laughing. Once I can figure out how to do that I will.

I just wanna know, who thinks Milli Vanilla and Vanilla Ice are in and hip?
