It's Not "Hype"...It's "Wipe"...As In Charmin.

Coupla guesses why they're the latest gossip-centers:
1) Beasley continues to amaze, confound and bamboozle the locals with inept/inane "programming" decisions with that frequency once again as it has for years; it's like the longest-running soap opera in Philly.
2) Other stations aren't NEARLY as "interesting" because they just hum along like the well-oiled machines they are with operations that don't have constant turmoil, shpilkas or drama.
3) Marshal Mathers, a.k.a. Eminem, simply caused more white kids to emulate the brothaz/sistaz who CAN do the "ghetto format", as you put it. WIRED is for suburban white kids who think they can dance, believe they do have soul and actually can understand the underlying angst that created hiphop...in all its genres. They can't and never will understand FULLY that kind of music like people of color.
BTW, these listeners are the same people who think Milli Vinilli and Vanilla Ice are current and hip.
4) Amen to the discussion of ALT or Triple-A as a commercial format in Philly; XPN shouldn't win that war by default...even though they do a helluva job with the music. Competition breeds stronger chops.
5) I vote for SUNNY to go A.A.A./Adult Album-Alternative! I'll even donate the first thousand mp3's of the core artists and their best tunes from my vast program library. ;-)
