Why are Binghamton posts so dead? Also, What's with WEBO - Owego

Is radio so dead in Binghamton that no-one posts anymore? Take a look at the Northeast Pa board...posts several times a day. Even Scappy's board...Nothing!
What's with WEBO, Owego...they call themselves Newsradio but the news in on whenever they feel like doing a local report, very sporatic. They started doing a lot of local news when the new owners took over...but now it's like an MP3 player set to Shuffle, no morning show "voice", no time or temp, (time is very important in the morning for people getting ready for work and school)... (a lot of times it sounds like a broken MP3 player...lots of problems with voices hanging up...I mean A LOT!!!) I think they lost a lot of new listeners who tuned in and liked it ... but when they tune out, it's hard to get them back. I wish them a lot of luck, but things have gone down hill really bad.

Before you "blasted" WEBO, maybe you should have visited or called the new owner and asked some questions. Dave Radigan took over a radio station that was broken down and off the air as much as it was on. It was a waste of good electricity! He now has a showcase studio with top of the line equipment, bought a brand new transmitter and is currently trying to put up a new tower to replace the "wire". Then they will be able to go to their full 5000 watts of power and then I'm sure other stations will stand up and take notice. I'm sure with all that has to be done building a radio station from the ground up takes a lot of time away from running the station. I am very confident that when everything is "ready to go" it will become one of the best stations for news and music in the area. Watch out Binghamton!

WEBO was dead in virtually all aspects except for it's license when Dave Radigan took over. The destruction of WEBO began when Gillinsky took over from Frank Penny & Warren Haas, and immediately turned his back on Owego because he wanted to be a "Binghamton" station. All the community aspects that Penny & Haas had built up were tossed out. By the time it was essentially given away to Terry Coleman, the thing was on life support. Don Perkins did everything he could to keep this wreck on the air, but it was a losing battle. I think Dave Radigan has done a teriffic job in bringing the place back to life. Here's a guy who's risked his money and is putting his sweat into the place day by day. Good luck to him & his operation! BTW..when WEBO gets off the wire, powers all the way up to 5K and up on a tuned tower, it will be a very loud station, in fact louder than WNBF. It will likely be the best non-directional AM signal in the market.
