why can't 94.5 be more like 92.7?

Contact our Appointments Director at the Media Hut and we'll meet you there. A canal side oil change for the Gremlin with an extra hand sounds like a plan!

I guess that would explain why the water in the canal makes me want to sing "Old black water, keep on rollin',

Does it make you feel old when someone like the original poster refers to the station as "92.7" and doesn't know the ancient lore relating to Ancient Modulation KAZG and its ancient equipment? So prosaic.

And it is KDOT to me.

Gotta' run... there is an early Black Friday sale at Goldwaters at Los Arcos Mall.

I don't believe there was a Goldwaters at Los Arcos, from what I remember. They had Sears and The Broadway. IIRC, Goldwaters was a standalone store in downtown Snobsdale.

I think you are right: I have a picture of myself buying suits there when I got hired to manage what became WQII and WZNT in San Juan part way through my senior year at ASU. That was 1974, and when some of the nicest suits were Johnny Carson brand! The picture matches the "other" mall in Scottsdale, not Los Arcos that the pics of Los Arcos show had Sears and a Broadway. I lived only about a half-mile from there so Los Arcos was a more frequent shopping stop.

Yes, the Nurse and I saw you many times at Los Arcos Dorados in South Scottsdale. Auto Row is now Apartment/Condo Row, and all the strip clubs and pawn shops are morphing into coffee shops or Mary Jane shops. But through it all, KAZG (KPOK, KDOT, KXAM, KOPA, KSLX), is still serving the COL with Music Pow-Pow-Power. Same as it ever was.

Funny.....my Bimmer says 92.7 is 93.3 HD2 and calls be damned.

My favorite Snottsdale pow-pow-power came from KOPA when it occupied space at the motel on the main drag. KSLX not so much.

Ah, but my daily trip to ASU was a beeline down Scottsdale Road to Tempe. Then the turn-around out to Glendale was over an hour!

The Safari Resort in Scottsdale..."the West's most midwestern town" A tip of the fez to Bob Boze Bell for calling it like it is!

Memories of my folks taking me to breakfast at The Brown Derby at the Safari. If you timed it just right, you'd see the police beacon on-air light pop on through the window upstairs at KOPA-100.

My parents would take me there, too...my dad called the design "Frank Lloyd Wright meets Tarzan." 😛

...and just a half mile away was the KIVA Theater. Raincoats suggested. YIKES!
