Alternative Rock should have some "rock" in it. This new stuff belongs on a Hot AC station.

Billy Bragg, Nine Inch Nails, Tori Amos & Bob Marley on the same station.
The format has always embraced a wide variety of left of center music. Some of it later became fairly mainstream. U2, REM, New Order, Depeche Mode, etc.
Modern rock was never a purely guitar rock based format until the grunge era.
Just heard today on 100.5 The Buzz, "Big announcement coming Monday at noon".ThatGuyOnTheRadio said:You clearly haven't listened to 100.5 recently...

Hopefully it's a contest or something & not a format change. They're pretty much the only station I listen to besides X1029, which is harder to pick up since I live 80 miles from them. The Buzz has recently tweaked their playlist to include more alternative music again. I like it.
If so that's it for me. I'll be done with the garbage around here on FM radio. I still can't get over the stupid move UF pulled with 103.7. If The Buzz leaves, my smartphone will be my only radio for the forseeable future.jmtillery said:901Rocks said:Just heard today on 100.5 The Buzz, "Big announcement coming Monday at noon".ThatGuyOnTheRadio said:You clearly haven't listened to 100.5 recently...

Most likely it will be yet another format change as the format wheel "spin of the week" spins once again.
...And the announcement was.... a trip to Las Vegas to see a concert! (whew) All is well in my radio world tonight! ;Djmtillery said:901Rocks said:Just heard today on 100.5 The Buzz, "Big announcement coming Monday at noon".ThatGuyOnTheRadio said:You clearly haven't listened to 100.5 recently...
