Can't RXP do us all a favor and just dump the classic rock as well as the trucker rock (Nickelback, Daughtry). It's hard to have a unique rock experience when one is playing Aerosmith and Lifehouse in between alternative bands. Since we already have a classic rock station (Q) and a completely unfocused boring mess of a rock station (K-Rock) can we at least have one winner here in the city or is that too much to ask?

Yes it can. K-Rock under Cloherty didn't make it because it didn't take ANY chances. They didn't add new music (that "Fresh Meat at 6" was a total joke) and insisted on playing Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters LITERALLY every hour. No wonder people tuned out. With RXP we have a chance to hear music we don't normally get a chance to hear on ANY other station in NYC (Vampire Weekend, Cold War Kids, The National, Death Cab For Cutie). Why not add more alternative artists and make it a cross between FNX in Boston and Indie 103. With the ever-growing population of semi-wealthy, educated young professionals here in New York who LISTEN to that kind of music (and appear to have disposable income with the amount of shows that sell out in the city), there would be an AUDIENCE for advertisers to reach.
