go after Sunny? Sunny is a target. Is does very little in the way of community interaction. No real big name show. I would love to see it happen.
I think it would hurt Sunny and Clear Channel alot. That is what seems to be the goal. You knock the cash cow from the top 5 you win without bring at the top. Lets face it The Point is dead. A new Lite hit format could realy dim
that Sunny day to just Partly Sunny. I think Sunny knows this astroid may be

They would have to skew the Sunny demos and playlist to get something that is similar enough to draw away listeners while being different enough for people to tell that there is a (hopefully) positive alternative.

Either place it musically between Sunny and Mix (Gen X & Y, no Boomers) or go somewhat older, similar to what was tried in DFW on the old KMEO, or the now defunct "Sunny" format on KEGL.

106.9 would never beat Sunny, but could do a bit of damage. Cox would have to decide whether there are enough female office worker/soccer mom types to go around.
 
They should go after MIX 96.5 because it's the easiest station to go after. let's face it other than 106.9, Mix is poorly run. Add in a good morning show and quality music, they could draw the soccer moms away from them.
