Why did Fox 29 drop Seinfeld?

Looking at national syndicated ratings, it seems like Seinfeld is still going strong. So why did Fox 29 drop this classic show from its lineup?

Actually, there's a huge thread on the National TV board about this: Earlier this month, several markets, including New York, had affiliate changes. In the case of Philadelphia, I don't think Fox 29 had a choice in the matter (the show aired on Fox 5 in NYC before returning to WPIX) but I'm sure that it's airing on another station there... probably WPHL or WPSG... or.. WFMZ?

I'm pretty sure Fox-29 had "Seinfeld" in the same 7:30 PTAR slot uninterrupted going back to the Fall of 1995. Is that the longest same-channel-same-slot run of any off-network syndicated rerun in the market?

I can't help but wonder how much the constant airings of "Seinfeld" and other shows on cable channels have devalued the syndication aspect.
