Why did Star 102 change it's calls?

Have a question about Star 102. How come it changed it's calls from KSRC to KCKC? When it changed calls I thought it was going to slip formats but it never did. It never even changed the logo.
 
From everything I heard, it was going to flip formats, but CBS aborted the change at the last minute because the format it was going to flip to tanked miserably in other CBS markets in books that came out a day or two before the flip was supposed to happen.
