Why do HD boosters refuse to address technological facts?

If I have to choose between an mp3 player or a radio I'll choose the radio anytime. i can't be bothered with downloading music from the internet.
Then I must be a total technogeek. :) 8)

Not only do I regularly rotate songs on my mp3 but because my car doesn't have an mp3 input I record to cassette what songs I want to bring with me. I have a cassette adapter, but it needs to be fixed. :'(

I don't download music, I just rip songs from CDs or grab podcasts of shows I've missed. I find it sounds better than on radio where it's all Optimuddied up. :D ;)

I've always thought the only thing that can save HD radio is no processing on the digital channels. But I am a technogeek. :p :-*

There needs to be SOME processing, even on the digital channels. Using it judiciously is the key.

I have this problem with some of the podcasts I listen to on a regular basis (glares at NPR)... There's no processing so quiet parts are inaudible in the car, and loud parts blow out the speakers.

As such, I decompress each of these many podcasts daily or weekly and run them through a small compressor plugin in my sound editor program. It doesn't sound quite as good as a well processed public station, but it's close.
