Why Do So Few iHeart Stations Use iHeart 24/7 News or NBC News Radio?

Interesting. The last time I listened on the iHeart app to KFI carrying Noory, the entire top of the hour newscast was covered over by commercials. I wasn't aware KFI is using 24/7 at the top of the hour overnight for two minutes before the local newscaster does LA stories. Can we tell if the local news is live? Does the newscaster interact with the traffic reporter or is it a cold throw to traffic?

I listened to both the top and bottom of the hour in the 11pm hour. They use the same news clock for both breaks. A few other details...there is no traffic and no weather AT ALL. Zilch, nada. The local headlines were different each time, however after the sweeper, the second anchor (Sean Diamond?) went right into the news headlines. And this time there was no "Live from the KFI 24 hour newsroom". Which leads me to believe both were pre recorded.
