I've got a pair of 60s boxes (Audimax along with both an AM & FM(mono) Volumax). These boxes are fun! Worth every penny I spent on them. I really hope I get the opportunity to put them on the air at some point. Actually, I kind of have - I had to pre-record my show one week and ran the file through these boxes set relatively gently. Sounded pretty cool on AM radio!I like Stereo Tool. It's good enough for my Part 15 AM project that it sounds semi professional, which is neat.
Something I'd like to see (or hear?), though, is an affordable processor that can emulate the sounds of the old 1960s equipment (the so-called "Max Brothers", which were the Audimax and, think, Volumax??). It would be fun to play around with that, even though it would probably be a waste of time, since what I have already, humble though it may be, is far superior in every way to anything available back then.

I'd love to put them on the air without anything else down the chain (aside from a filter because these have a higher frequency response than is allowed on AM today) and crank them up real nicely to get that top-40 sound. Talk about fun
I've got a little part 15 transmitter (a replica of a Knight 3-tube unit) that I run them through, but it doesn't really like them set to squash mode haha.
I've got a 1RU stereo FM Volumax, too, and am keeping an eye out for the accompanying Audimax...
So far as I know, there isn't any online replica of these boxes. I think your best bet is to get a pair yourself. Also keep in mind that a lot of the Audimax units were "hot rodded" over the years, with a particular resistor value changed to speed up the attack on the Audimax. This helped really smash things, but also caused quite a bit of "pumping."
Love the sound of these:
