Why do the weekday morning meteorologists always get to go to Fenway Park the day of the Red Sox home opener?

This morning, I noticed that WCVB, WBTS, WFXT, and WHDH all had their weekday morning meteorologist report the weather live from Fenway Park this morning, instead of at their respective news stations.

Why does a *weather person* get to go to Fenway instead of one of their sports anchors, or even a "regular" reporter? It makes no sense to me! Plus, while 2 of these meteorologists (Cindy Fitzgibbon and Matt Noyes) are chief meteorologists, wouldn't Kevin Lemanowicz and Jeremy Reiner cry foul that their "#2 in command" gets to go to Fenway Park for work?

Trade-offs: Sending a reporter means there's fewer stories covered for the late shows. Sending the sports anchor means bringing in someone who wouldn't normally be on a morning shift, so you're probably having a substitute on at 11 to cover one of the bigger sports days of the year.

I agree that it's a bit weird all 4 stations did the exact same thing.
