WHY DO YOU THINK IT WILL BE RUMBA 104.5?

Do all of you REALLY think the format will be Spanish? Seriously, I'm pushing for Rock, but really, why would they put it out there already? Clear Channel is known for stunting websites. Not only that, Rumba 104.5 is the DUMBEST name for a radio station. Oh, and for the record, the words on Rumba1045.com mean "LATIN PRIDE". Regardless if I want the Spanish format or not, I STILL think this is a front/decoy/sham to throw another station off from putting the Rock format on.

Rock, IMO, would make CC more money than Rumba.

It's also easier to sell with Q and 99 without taking from either of their desired demos. That's the problem that a Rumba type station will present -- it's going to essentially take listeners from 99 and 102 in order to get a 2.5 12+ rating. Wired will drop a touch as will the Beat but 99 and 102 will likely get hit as well. Does taking .6 from 99 and .8 from 102 make sense? I don't know if it is the best idea.

By going rock (preferably active/modern hybrid), you don't take listeners away from your own stations and you take listeners from MMR and YSP.

I don't think they would tease with a web site promoting "Latin Pride" and then flip to something else.
That would get the hispanic community in an uproar ("how dare you use us like this", etc...)

how the hell would the latin community even know? dont you all get it? the reason they put that site up is for radio geeks like us who actually LOOK for it!

You stole my thunder! They do this to tease us wanna-be radio PDs!
