There has probably been a thousand threads over on the AC board about the changing music landscape and how stations do not play "soft rock" artists. But also on the CHR and Hot AC stations are "soft rock" acts largely not played as much as their rhythmic counterparts. Also, the "slower" songs that make it on there are by more R&B and rhythmic acts in general like John Legend, Meghan Trainor, Charlie Puth, ect., while acts like Rob Thomas, Sara Bareilles, Jess Glynne, ect. do not climb as high on the Hot AC charts. While the answer most likely is these songs do not test as well with the women 25-54 demo, why do you think that is that soft rock acts have become less popular in favor of more rhythmic acts?
