Why does KPBS still have a translator at 89.1?

Since KPBS-FM moved to Mt. Soledad, does anyone know why they still have a La Jolla repeater at 89.1? That repeater was needed when transmitter was still on Mt. San Miguel. Now, it's a complete waste of wattage -- being located maybe one mile from the new main antenna site.

Maybe they can give it to the new KNSJ, since it's on the same frequency. Also, it would let all the ultra-wealthy La Jollans and Del Martians in the repeater's range hear KNSJ's pleas for donations :)

It might be there until the lease agreement with the building owner expires. Op costs for a 4w ERP are insignificant. After the
Soledad move was sealed, KPBS withdrew the CP translator upgrade to 50w. That was early last year if I recall..
