Why does WBNX not air shows in true widescreen HD

I have noticed that the HD feed of WBNX does not display shows in the 16:9 format. They are all, with the exception of The Daily Buzz are displayed in the 4:3 format. The picture looks like it is in HD, but why is it not in widescreen.
 
My guess is they may not have the equipment to broadcast in widescreen, so they might be saving up since they are independently owned.
