WHY DOESN'T WXIA GRAB ANTENNA-TV?

WXIA will be losing Untamed Sports next year (it will be a cable/satellite only channel).
They don't seem to do very well/make much of their sub channels. Weather is now on
36.2 and soon 11.3 will be gone also.

I know Antenna-TV is usually a group deal, but you'd think WXIA would be pushing for
it (or at least trying to get a waiver from corporate).

Sooner or later somebody will snatch Antenna-TV and the other stations will be saying
"why didn't we do that 10 months ago" but it will be too late then.

WXIA has Universal Sports. WT = B.S. has Untamed Sports. Does it matter much either way? A bunch of hippy um....lets say ummm something you might find on Richard Simmons Tivo (trying to be PC here) um "happy" sports and on Untamed you have AAA league racing NEWS shows that were filmed in 2007 (wtf? What next? Will WANN sstumble across a good deal on a warehouse full of the Nightly News from 1997 and air those at 11) and outdoor shows filmed on a cell phone camera that would make 1986 Public Access Cable seem flashy.

I dont get everyone's facsination with these retro channels either. I may have heard of 2 of the shows they air and I like classic tv. Here's an idea. What about a channel that shows something new and entertaining that's not geared toward one race or in a foreign language or an infomercial or discussing a book written 2000+ years ago?

As of this week, 11-2 has dropped the barker telling viewers to go to 36-2 for weather.

The green background remains with just the call letters and logo.

As far as I know the only subs Gannett has are Universal Sports and Weather.

So, how did WATL get Bounce TV? Looks like WXIA could ask for a similar waiver
to try out Antenna TV.

Looks like 36.2 has gone live with Bounce.

The weather is gone and has not moved back to 11.2 so far.

I hear that in a month or so WATL is adding Antenna TV on Dt-3 I believe according to Wikipedia

I noticed 11.3 on my tv the other day...it was listed as Sports but didn't air anything..I figured it was either not broadcasting or out of range. Hopefully something good.

I like to think that someone remembers what TV was like before cable and is trying to capture that. I grew up halfway between Chicago and Milwaukee so along with the big three networks x 2, I would also get several independent channels (including WGN) running numerous syndicated shows, classics, classic movies, etc. That's where I saw most of the shows on RTV.

The sports channel that was on 11.3 has moved to 11.2 probably until the channel goes cable only. The weather has yet to return so 36.3 is still blank.

What is 3.3 and 3.1? Do you mean 36.3 and 36.1? Either way, I can't ger excited about this. I've seen Antenna TV and between that, Retro TV and MeTV there may be 2 hours a week worth of watchable, quality programming....and it was all made before I was born!!! Can we please get something fresh?-

This will happen sometime in January. I know Universal Sports is leaving on the 1st, but
don't know if they will be ready by then. Looks like it would be simple to route the new
signal to 36.3 though.
