Why dont we have a rhythmic AC station in Houston???

I think its time to get a rhythmic ac station in Houston. We are surrounded by them . Theres Movin 107.5 owned by CBS radio in Dallas, theres JAMMIN 105.9 in Austin owned by Clear Channel, and KTFM 94.1 in San Antonio owned by BMP. Whos going to bring it into Houston???

I like to go see KKRW flip to Rhythmic AC (Does anybody here remember Love 94?) Or How about KHJZ? I think one of these 2 will flip by the end of the year.

Jammin 105.9 would be ok, but not a KTFM 94.1 like station, I got so board with that station I quit listening to it after they changed the morning show. 93.7 might be a good signal for a rhythmic AC, but I kind of doupt CC will flip it. I guess you dont remember Kiss 98.5 and 103.3 when they were Rhythmic AC.

KKRW has been consistently among the top 5 or 6 in 25-54 stations in the PPM since it started. There is no way that one will change. KHJZ is a different story, but it all depends on billings, too.

yeah i don't se 93.7 flipping anytime soon but 95.7 i don't think will last much longer

so if KHJZ flips there won't be a jazz station in houston won't some people get pissed at that?

I Believe DFW was so pissed when KOAI flipped to Rhythmic AC from Jazz. So, I should better leave The Wave alone-For Now. I don't think there's no room right now.

Piss off 16,000 listeners, yet gain 200,000?

I'd do it. :)

And it's not like you're pissing off real jazz fans (who might actually be vocal about a flip if a station that was actually serving them went away) anyway... all that station is is an uber-lite AC, the definition of background listening.

Hello, is anyone's brain home??? Why would KKRW flip when they are consistently No. 1 or No. 2 25-54?

Exactly right, radioresearcher. If anything were to replace smooth jazz on 95.7, it would be a flip to something "fresher". It seems to be the next big thing coming out of CBS.

I really don't think CBS is going to make the mistake they made in SF by destroying a decent station at the time (KFRC) and putting a loser MOVIN' format on. I'm sure EMMIS in Los Angeles is also sorry they went with MOVIN' format. Even Rick Dees can't save them!
