Why Erica Got Fired ?

Sentinel's Scott Maxwell speculates it may have been because she refused an endorsement for Brighthouse..

Personally, I don't buy it....

I'm sure Erica was bringing in more $$$ from other clients than the Brighthouse endorsement deal..and especially over the years her marquee status was valuable to the station. Also, there were probably alternatives available, such as Scott could have done the endorsement, or someone else at the station. This seems someone is reaching for an explanation.

I don't buy it either...I think it's more like...she made TOO Much money CBS Didn't want to pay huge salaries to two people do to a morning show.

OK CBS Radio...bring her back, admit your dumba** mistake and give the audience what they want.

BONEHEAD, I'm telling you, BONEHEAD!

That's my article!

Glad you found it interesting. Thanks for the MP3 & url linkage.

As the guy who got bounced because I was "too well known" (imagine that, acomplishing the goal my employer set for me) when BJ-105 dropped Top 40 and went to Mix, I find it the height of irony that Erica gets shown the door because Mix is flipping back.

If I may add something to this thread, I don't believe that erica was fired because she made too much money. They are looking at replacing her with someone much more dynamic. This is not a bash on Erica, she was great behind the mic and had a great re pore with Scott. In today's competitive morning show slots you need to be much more dynamic outside of the studio, she just wasn't that person...Secondly, I believe they probably thought their show was getting stale... and they needed a person that was going to add something on the creative front, which basically was composed of Jay and Scott...the show lost a lot when either was not there. I know this sounds like a lot of behind the scenes type of opinion, it's just speculation and makes sense to me...

If anyone needs to be back on-air, I would vote as follows: 1. Bill Barber 2. Thom Sherwood 3. Pepper LipSync and 4. Pat O'Day
