Why I Like WEZV Easy Radio in Myrtle Beach

I do hope WEZV doesnt get any ideas from what people are calling Snooze 92.

I said this on a thread about that station.

I listened quite a bit to WEZV Easy 105.9 in the past week and I can't really complain about them. A few clunkers such as "St. Elsewhere" but there was one occasion where I heard Nat Cole's original "Unforgettable" (NOT the duet!) followed by a good song floowed by Andy Williams. Other than that, though, it did seem all the "real" standards were performed by new artists, and even when Jim Morgan promised us Tony Bennett it was a duet with Michael Buble. Sure, it was good, but focus a little more on the artists who made the music in the first place. And why are they so obsessed with Rod Stewart?

Not many instrumentals, but there are times when WLGI 90.9 Radio Baha'i plays smooth jazz. I'll take it! I landed on this station with the "scan" button and heard an instrumental.

Chimp,
To use YOUR verbage, for someone in their 40's, Rod is "quality."It's for people who are HIS audience, a notch or 2 YOUNGER than typical "standards" listeners.

If YOU want that formant to PROSPER - don't moan about Rod. He's part of what makes Nat King Cole on am, POSSIBLE, or please don't crab if the REAL standards (without Rod) go away.

I have no objection to Rod Stewart. Others on this board did, but I don't. I'm just saying why play HIM so much when Frank and Tony and Nat don't seem to get their proper air time--which they do on Dial Global.

I like Rod Stewart's pop and rock hits. I also like standards by the original artists. Yet I don't like to hear Rod Stewart sing standards. That's just my tastes,

I don't mind him, but if they're going to be obsessed with anyone so much they play him more than Sinatra it should be Michael buble.
