Why I think one will go Rock

Philly is the only market CC has no rock presence. The Male Rock audiance 18-44 is underserved, this demo spends big bucks. Philly is a Rock town, and if done right, big money can be made. Rock bands love to play here, due to the fast sellout and passion of the fans. The twist is it will probably debut on 106.1, 104.5 will be the Rhythmic jive station. CC is throwing everyone off with what they are doing and its because GM is in a upheavel with 97.5.

You know, I read something (I think it was on the other board), that it makes sense for CC to flip 104.5 to spanish, because it completes it subclusters. They already had an urban one with power99, and WDAS FM/AM, but with a spanish format they would have CHR type one with q102, Philly 106.1, and spanish on 104.5. That made sense, however the same could be said with a new rock station. top 40 includes pop/rap, and rock.

Still I think 104.5 is going spanish. Cheaper to run (Y100 hads a loyal audience, but I think Y100's personality had a part in that, and a juke box alternative station won't work)

Oh, as for the 106.1 stunt, I see no chance in that. I just can't see them promoting a station on 2 frequencies for 4 or so days, only to crete confusion when 106.1 goes rock or whatever.
