Why in the Hell Does'nt COX carry NECN (NEW ENGLAND CABLE NEWS)?

Just a guess...but would it have anything at all to do with the fact that NECN is owned by Comcast? Are Comcast and Cox having issues (other than one wanting to dominate the other)?

But Cox carried Comcast Sports Net New England back when it was FOX Sports Net NE. They carried that channel way before they picked up NESN. Thats another topic. Also I don't understand why Cox doesn't place NBC Sports Network or Golf on basic. I know Comcast does as their both Comcast owned. Well so does Time Warner Cable where I live now both are on basic. And Im sure TWC would carry NECN if I was up in New England.

It's one of those things that happens...Cox couldn't come to terms with NECN back when it launched, and presumably they've determined over the years that not having NECN isn't costing them any significant revenue now. Since NECN isn't on Dish or DirecTV, either, it's not as though customers will leave Cox for the satellite providers over it. That leaves only whatever overlap may exist between Cox and Verizon FiOS (and maybe RCN, if any?) to provide any real competition.

Back when northern CT had Continental Cable we had access to NECN. When Cox took over the franchises NECN went away. Do I miss it? No, not really. The newscasts were (and still are) mostly Boston-based.

No because COX carries Comcast Sports Network.

They also carry The Golf Channel and NBC Sports Network both owned by Comcast. Plus they also carry other networks that they got when they Comcast and NBC-Universal got married.

Why does'nt Comcast do what everyone else does? You want Comcast Sports you have to carry NECN.NBC, Viacom all do it?

It sucks when they're already the largest cable provider in the nation. They think they're better than everybody else. :(

As for COX and no NECN...does that one non-COX franchise in Rhode Island carry them?
