Why is B 97 slipping so much? Is it Mornings without TK? Is it the incompetent PD? what is it? Didn't Jeff fire
Ashley and Brad from Journal? Will he do it again at the B
 
You have obviously never been inside South Central. No one person can ever deserve credit or blame for anything that happens in that company. Nothing goes on until market manager, company president, owner's son, PD, consultant and research company are all in agreement. Then a few months later, the action plan agreed on is executed.

Maybe B is just being committeed to death, like so many other corporate type radio stations.
 
Do you really think SCC is as bad a life at the REAL supercorps? Try Crumulus or Chitadel and see if anyone
there even cares to ask. The world of corporate radio has degenerated to such lows so quickly.

I agree the TK thing was wrong, even worse is his website begging for a job and no one is willing to pick him up.
But, all in all is SCC really the worst to deal with?? I don't see the nightmares anywhere as close as the two
C's above.

Then again, I am in Nashville and haven't been in K-town since the early 80's when it was real radio
and real fun...none of the canned stuff.

Bright side of it, here in Nashville, SCC is #1 & #2 with very little effort, Jacks on a good signal and
local, but, not live...although I heard the bird version last weekend in Knoxville - not that different.
Signals really suck there, I didn't really ever ride them like I did, or tried to, no wonder. Then again,
CC came up with a really brilliant marketing concept that revolutionized radio in Music City --- they
promoed the living hell out of "taking over another station" --- ended up being a GAS station...
hehehe --- now isn't that original. Whose getting pd. $100,000 to come up with that waste of the
airwaves.

It's mediocre slop and getting worse...and yet it could be Birmingham.
 
What I want to know is what's up with the classics weekend or whatever it is. No Delilah? What a brain****. They completely cut out their nighttime ratings booster for 70's and 80's. Could you say
format change on the way? Inquiring minds want to know..... ;D
 
I would bet the farm on there being no format change on 97.5.

There is something coming on 95. and 106.7, probably by mid-August. They still have to carry the ABC national ads from Jack, so they may just be switching to a different ABC satellite format, but SS has chalked up to a Jack failure in Knoxville.
 
well I see B 97 is now down to a 9.1! I see that in the last year without a direct competitor B 97 has gone from an 11.5 to a 9.1! I know the PD that was there and got them the 11.5 got canned so why is the PD that has guided them to a 9.1 still there. I just wonder how radio works some times

One could conclude that much of the decline is directly related to the departure of TK. If you look at the cume and AQH share in the Fall 2005 book, (TK all three months) and compare that to Winter 2006 (TK one of three months) then look at Spring 2006 (no TK at all), you'll see a trend.

They could be the only station in America to do the Fugitive contest and still have a down book. ::)

How are Brad and Ashley doing Compared to a)TK's Old Numbers and Bee)Where are they compared to Star etc....
 
I GOT IT AND THANKS. All I can say is that B97 PD will do for Bee what he did for Journal.
