Why is Hannity still on WSJS?

I noticed on the WSJS website that they are still carrying the Shawn Hannity Show. Could someone tell me the theory behind why WSJS continues to carry Hannity? I realize he pulls decent numbers and will add to the station's ratings in the short term, but if you know you're going to eventually lose Hannity why keep him on? Why not be establishing the program you're going to be replacing Hannity with? It would seem CMG is doing CC a favor by airing the program and continuing to build a following for it. I am assuming CC is still planning to add Hannity to 94.5 Rush Radio. Has this been covered on one of the other posts and I missed it?

Why is hannity on any station? His whole life he's done nothing that makes it worth listening to him for more than 6 nano seconds.

God, that is so UNFAIR! His radio show is a FANTASTIC 3-hour infomercial for his Fox TV show and you just can't appreciate the man's talent!

Based on the fact that they didn't know what they were going to replace Rush with up until roughly two weeks prior to losing him, I think it's a pretty safe assumption to say that they don't yet know what will occupy Hannity's current timeslot. So to answer the question of why they're not establishing the program that will be replacing Hannity, it's very likely because they have no clue what that program will be yet.

Hopefully it'll be something local. All I read on this board when the news came out that WSJS was losing Rush and Hannity was that it presented an excellent opportunity for them to take the cash they were paying for the rights to carry those two shows and invest it in a good local show. Well, they blew that opportunity with the Rush timeslot but putting a Christian financial guy and a former SNL castmember on the air. Hopefully they'll put a local show on in the Hannity timeslot like they used to have when Mike Fenley was running the programming over there. Somehow though, knowing the budget restraints of that operation, I really doubt that's what we'll see.

I also hear another round of budget cuts could be in the pipeline at WSJS. With Curtis owning the NC News Network, would anyone be surprised to see them cut the news staff and take newscasts from Raleigh?

I can see them putting together a "total news" drive-time show for Raleigh weekdays at 3 PM, kinda like what WTIC/Hartford does. (And WTIC is also a Hannity affiliate, running them on seven-hour tape delay at night; though, with their late morning host on medical leave, Hannity reruns are also airing in that time slot for now.)

Hey John, maybe they should try Air America.................no wait, they folded yesterday.

I'd be much happier if they all failed and the kkkulture wars ended. Then there'd be more space on the dial for non-cc music radio.
