KAMP played "Raise Your Glass" before ANY other station in the market- KIIS, KBIG- but that was months ago and they have moved on. As someone pointed out, they are one of the first CHRs to be playing Far East Movement "Rocketeer", which is an LA based band, so they should be one of the firsts on the track.
KAMP plays more rhythmic product because that is what market forces dictate. Los Angeles is younger and more ethnically diverse than most markets, and these demographics favor rhythmic music, not Daughtry or Taylor Swift.
This begs the question- chicken or the egg. CHR is supposed to represent the 40 biggest radio airplay hits in the country at the time. Arguably, it should be a sampling of the regional varieties of hit music. Stations in larger cities and Sunbelt cities will probably tilt rhythmic, while stations in smaller markets may lean more rock, or play more country than a typical CHR. Overall, though, no CHR station should be forced to play every top 40 hit. The chart should reflect an amalgation of what the CHR stations in the country are playing. If there is demand for certain songs, then they will get played. If not, then they'll most likely get skipped by your local CHR.
