Why is KING getting a new sports reporter?

Yes. What I thought. Fox will continue to control the NFC. In Washington State won’t change much but probably allows for other non-centric games to be switched outside the primary market. But also allows other nfc games to air, especially if hawks are not good. Guess what? They won’t be good this year. These obvious Seahawks games may not be as common outside the Seattle metro this season.

Doubleheader rules are still in effect. If the Seahawks are not good, we'll probably see more inventory on FOX and less cross flexed onto Sunday Night Football and other national windows.

It's still a little unclear to me what the division of work will be in the sports department.
Is Jake really going to be a full time sports reporter plus fill in anchor?
This is a role that none of the stations in Seattle have any more (though they once all did).
He anchored over the weekend while I was in town and he's quite good - really a great camera presence and delivery.
I like Chris Egan a lot and he seems like a great person but he's always felt like a weird fit in the studio - doesn't have the camera presence and personality you might want.

Ah, Spring Bromance from a fan!

Guess you'll be virtually left-swiping Chris, now won't you?
