Why Is Kiss-FM In Poughkeepsie Playing Too Much Rap?

I was listening to it in the van while we were out that Kiss-FM is still playing rap music. I'm not a big fan of rap music like Snoop Dogg, Usher, Notorious BIG and those other rap artists on that station. I remember last year they got rid of the Freestyle 4 at 4 and repacing with Reggaton 4 at 4. I'm not a big fan of Reggaton. I missed freestyle music since it was at during Friday at a 4:00 PM hour playing 80's and early 90's freestyle, just like WKTU did. I hope that Kiss-FM in Poughkeepsie should do is to make a competitor with K-104. I see the other Kiss-FM stations in Albany at 102.3 did well with its Top 40/CHR thing. I don't listened to rap music on Kiss-FM in Poughkeepsie, because it sounded a lot like Hot 97 and Power 105, the two rap stations in New York City due to Star's firing and arresting and of course the shootings around Hot 97 during the last few weeks. I don't see it changing anytime soon if Kiss-FM in Poughkeepsie will go back to Top 40 to compete against K-104 or put on HD-2. This would work. Thoughts?

Since it's sign-on as 96.1/99.3 Kiss FM in Jan. 2001, Kiss has been a Rythmic station, and they have held their own. They have had more success with the Rythmic format against K104.7 , then they probably would have as a Top 40 station, because their signal is more limited than K104.7's, and they are currently the only local Rap station.

Thanks for the info. I know that its been around for 5 years when it was rhythmic format before it turned into some sort of rap, just like Hot 97 and Power 105 did in New York City or sometimes WCAA while Kiss sometimes plays reggaton just like La Calle. I should rather go with K-104 because it's a far better radio station than Kiss-FM is.

Kiss-FM's signal seems to be plagued by multipath interference more so than other stations in this area. A local station speckled with static while driving down route 9 in Poughkeepsie, IMO, is unacceptable.
