Why Is KPHX Simulcasting On 1190?

Maybe because (on night pattern) neither station can be heard
more than ten miles from its transmitter? ;)

The LMA set-up conference call we would have liked to have
listened in on...

LMAee: Think we should simulcast?

LMAer: Well, we've got four nulls at night.

LMAee: So do we.

LMAer: There you go...eight nulls are twice as good as four!*

LMAee: OK, let's do it.

*: No, that line was not originally spoken by Yogi Berra.

Hey their day time pattern is no screamer! Up in my neck of the woods it's buried under that flame thrower waste of spectrum space at 1510.....

So is 1190 pumping out a massive 250 watts at night or have they upgraded to the new and improved 400 watts yet? (according to radio locator)

Now, I can hear it all the way home at night in Far North Phoenix (although the reception does get fuzzy around Carefree Highway).

Yes and to the post above 1190 doesn't have any more nulls than a lot of other "big time" market players (if such things still exist).
