WHY IS LAURA INGRAHEM NOT ON IN NYC ??

She is the in the top 5 national talkers and not cleared in NYC !! I remember her show was on WABC few years ago and was quite entertaining.

I think Laura Ingraham might be buried on 970 The Apple in late nights...

Great lady and host, The "O'Bama Diaries" is a great read for any reasonable thinking person to get a look behind the curtain at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Hopefully, she returns to NYC soon.

She's lousy. Don't you get tired of hearing talking points repeated day and night. These shows appeal to people 65 plus and shut-ins. Not exactly an advertiser friendly group and you wonder why radio is aging out of the marketplace. What is the entertainment value of this garbage anyway?

I'm pretty sure her book is satire and not meant to be taken too seriously.

It's not actually Obama's diary!

Oh, yeah, right, thanks for clearing that up...

Aren't they all "talking points" people? It all pretty much sounds the same. And Laura Ingrahem has one of the MOST annoying voices in recent memory.

Essentially, Citadel decided that it wanted to syndicate Curtis Sliwa at night a couple years ago. Then Ingraham was moved from 8pm- on WABC. Mark Levin's program expanded to three hours from 6pm-9pm, and Laura's show only had one hour carried in the Big Apple. Eventually, that ended.

Laura is not on 970 as the program's relationship with the Salem stations also ended a couple years ago. Laura is really an amazing radio host and her show really deserves to be on in NYC. WABC should put her on live from 10am-Noon now that their Scarborough experiment failed.

To elaborate on that... the bad blood between Salem and her syndicator, TRN, dates back to August 2008. All of the other Salem conservatalkers yanked her show from their lineups after TRN started demanding that they make more clearances - or better clearances - for some of their other shows (Savage, Jerry Doyle, Phil Hendrie, et al).

Plus it came two months after she took an unannounced sabbatical (which was for her overseas adoption), and with those stations wondering why Monica Crowley was on every day... that didn't help. Neither did the GM for Salem's Cleveland conservatalker not only canceling Savage over his autism flap, but calling Savage a "knucklehead" in the process... :D

If Laura is to resurface in the Big Apple, that will be the day when there's someone at WABC with an ounce of programming smarts. By their continuous bungling of that 10a-12p timeslot (do they even know that Scarborough was canceled?)... it's not going to be for a long while. If at all.

Last time I checked, this business is driven by ratings and revenue. Can someone point to Top 30 markets where her show is top 5 in either? Wouldn't that be the measure of why she is or is not in a market?

Maybe it depends on how much money the syndicator is willing to put on the show. Works for Glenn Beck and George Noory on WOR...
