Why is like every rap song I hear about sex?

Why does it seem like practically every rap song I hear on CHR is about sex?

Akon's trashy "I wanna love you", Usher's "Love in this club", 50 Cent's "Ayo technology", Snoop Dogg's "Sensual Seduction", Craig David's "Fill Me In" - is it possibly today to have a hit "urban" (rap or R & B) song WITHOUT mentioning sex and lust?

I know there are a lot of non-promiscuous rap songs out there, but they seem to struggle to make it near mainstream radio play. Are people's tastes really that base?

SEX=$$$$ . The most money maker business in America right now, is Porno . SEX=$$$ . This is a Horny Nation .

Why is every country song about the farm life and alcohol?

I don't like country music, but I can tell you that of the many country songs I've heard not many center around alcohol and many don't even mention it, and few country songs are about farm life.

A good portion of all songs in any format always dealt with love or sex, but now the lyrics are more graphic and in your face. Nothing subtle at all.

You know, that's probably true, but when rap songs talk about sex they often do it in a way where love is seemingly absent and only the "sex" is emphasized. Very uncivilized. Like 50 Cent's "I'm into sex not making love".

And as for lyrics being more graphic, what does that reflect about our society? A loss of decency? Radio stations shouldn't play this trash.

Finally, we got to your real motives--you already have a problem with hip-hop, and you're fishing for agreeable responses.

The 'rap' you hear on the radio represents a small sampling of 'rap' overall. Go online and sample a few other artists, both mainstream and indie. You might find something you like. Or not.

Indeed the lyrics are nasty. I gave up listening to hip hop by 1995. I've changed, and hip hop has changed.

There are quite a few hip-hop / rap songs I enjoy. MC Solaar's "La Belle et Le Bad Boy" and Outkast's "Miss Jackson" come to mind in particular. What I'm sick of is how American hip-hop and CHR radio (which, after all, is largely hip-hop today) has gone down the toilet.
